Dear Friends and Neighbors, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Chris Kalani C. Manabat. I am a candidate for state representative in the 40th representative district. Also, having been raised in Ewa Beach, I feel that I know, first hand, the problems we face, the things we need, and what should be repaired/improved upon in our community. Over the past six legislative sessions, I have worked at the State Capitol. I am 27 years old and have worked at our State Capitol since I was 21 years old. During this time, I have monitored the introduction of many bills and resolutions designed to make our lives better here on the islands. Some of the most important issues are education, health care, tax reform, protecting our environment, helping small businesses, improving transportation, and more. Some issues I focus on more closely since it is what I believe to be specific problems to our community. These issues are: Infrastructure, Education (new high school in Ewa Beach) and Security & Safety. In my opinion, and as I've said in my brochures/mailings, drugs are the root to 90% of crimes. Push out the drug dealers and the crime rate and drug addiction will decrease yearly.

During my tenure at the State Capitol, I believe that I have developed the skills necessary to successfully pass legislation. I have been directly involved in writing bills for introduction, designing amendments for existing bills to make them more effective, as well as helping citizens who wanted to express their views at public hearings, through testimony. The most rewarding and important part of my job has been helping people solve their problems. Over the years, I have helped many people work with government agency to resolve a situation. I found that often a call from the office of a representative or senator can hasten a resolution to a problem. It may take several calls, but persistence usually pays off in the end. If elected, my priority will be to support the best interest of the people. To help ease your financial burdens and address your community concerns. This coming August 11th and November 5th the people will decide who will be their voice in the Hawaii State House of Representatives. Please give me the opportunity to show you how dedicated, motivated, and enthusiastic I am to work for you. I have gone door to door in our community, asking what your concerns are. If elected, I will take what I've learned to our State Capitol, so that I may work on solving these issues. I believe I am qualified for the job and I humbly ask that you please consider voting for me, Chris Kalani Manabat. I would be honored to work for you. Warm Regards, Chris Manabat More info in "About us"
